A PLACE FOR A LEAF
Draft Model
With my first leaf I experimented with pressing the leaf in a way that it would be flat. I choose to pick another leaf from the tree because I felt that I altered the original form of the leaf too much. When I went back to the same tree to get another leaf I had a new respect for the curvature in every leaf. Once I picked a new leaf I realized that I wanted my project to complement the arch in the leaf. So I came up with this:


This model was completed using only paper as instructed (no binding agent). In addition to this, these arches were achieved by forming the entire model into a circle and allowing it to stay that way over night. When it was released the model created three levels of free standing arches. These arches remained intact due to the white textured paper that created tension within the model.
