How is dialog created?
I believe that dialog is created by using two or more objects in conjunction with one another to show interaction.
How is a sense of space/place defined?
A space is defined by its usage. Example, if there is a paved square it is an area but once lines are applied it becomes a parking “space.” Applying the term “space” to my Dialog model, my skewers created the space while the planes of Bristol board gave the skewers a sense of placement.
How is the idea of system generated?
Systems are generated by multiple pieces that interact together forming a working concept.
How does the joinery support the project concept/strategies?
I feel that joinery was key in my Dialog model because, the model did not stay connected until the planes of Bristol board created a joint eventually linking two sets of six planes together.
How is scale utilized in the project?
The scale for this project was fairly limited in the fact that twelve 4x6 Bristol board planes and twelve skewers were to be used. The only issued that I feel scale came into effect was on the choice of thick or thin skewers. I feel that the majority of the class chose appropriately or adjusted to what they had.
How do two-dimensional images add to the understanding of the project?
Two-dimensional images add understanding just like a blueprint adds understanding to the inner-workings of a building. Thus, giving the model a flat view allowing the viewer to see the model as the designer does.
How did the initial project idea evolve?
The instructions were to evolve from our Unity Model and since I made two, I attempted to combine them. My first model was very straight and linear while my second model appeared to spin in a radial pattern. With this being said, I folded the paper into straighten linear squares and used the skewers to give them a radial pattern.
