Have you been to the year 2030?

Design Theorem - AIA 2030 with John Linn:

AIA 2030 represents the challenge to have fossil fuel reduction in buildings down to neutral by the year 2030. The 2030 Challenge contains logical suggestions to have global warming altered for the good. This challenge has been proposed to global firms asking them to plan future construction around the current energy consumption standard of 50% of the regional average. Every five years the standard will increase by 10% so by year 2030 neutrally carbon buildings will began to be in use. Some of the suggestions were to, meet or go beyond the energy consumption standard with future plans and annual renovations of existing building portions to meet go beyond the energy consumption standard. A proposed way of achieving these suggestion is to implement a plan of strategies for all designers follow within a set firm. As of right now in the U.S. alone there are several coal based power plants and approximately 75% of the energy produced is meant for buildings. In the long run this can effect the earth’s climate dramatically. To learn how businesses, schools, or even an individual can help I urge you to visit, www.architecture2030.org.
